Yukata - to be continued / ゆかた 続き

As my husband went out for photo shooting for a whole day, I am now trying to finish my yukata sewing homework. 
I'm working on the longest part of the body of yukata; senui or the back.  I need to sew more than 1.5 meters twice... 
My teacher's instructions are very detailed and practical.  When sewing the back for the second time, I was told to make it as close as possible to the end of the cloth.  This way, it can prevent the combined two sheets of cloth coming apart while wearing it. 

主人が写真撮影会に一日中出かけたので、ゆかたの宿題に取り組む。今日は背縫い。着物でおそらくもっとも長い縫い目の一つ。1.5メートル強を2度も縫わなくてはいけない。。。とにかく長い。
しかし先生は細かく注意して縫い方を教えて下さった。2度目の縫い目は、布の耳ぎりぎりを縫う。そうすることで、着ているうちに縫い目が開いてくることが防げる。

Kikuya sweets / 菊屋のお茶菓子

Not related to kimono, but I just wanted to share the beauty of things Japanese...
From Nara, my husband's hometown, Mother-in-law sent us Japanese sweets of Kikuya.  Kikuya is famous for its authentic Japanese sweets mainly used for tea ceremonies. 
All the sweets tasted so nice, but also the packages are so pretty.  Some patterns looked like those of kimonos. 


着物に関係はないが、日本のものの美しさを少しご紹介。
奈良の義母から菊屋のお茶菓子が届いた。味もさることながら、パッケージもきれい。こんな柄の小紋、着てみたい、とか妄想してしまう。






By the way, it's still a long way to complete my hand-made yukata.  It's still a long strip of textile. 
しかし、ゆかたはまだまだ完成を見ない…
