My Recent Reading /

I heard of a French lady, who has been living in Japan for decades, daily wears kimono.  I was strongly impressed her love of Japanese culture and enthusiasm to learn, and decided to learn from her book on kimono.  Additionally, she somehow looks like one my kimono friends, which makes me even more curious about how she enjoys kimono life.

I also saw new Nanao magazine at the bookstore opposite to our workplace.  One of its major focus was hitoe (summer single-layered kimono) and how to coordinate hitoe to adjust to the changing temperature from June to early October time.  It gives very specific and detailed explanations using various examples.  Although I made it a rule NOT to buy Nanao magazine, this time I could not resist...  Moreover, I even placed an order of kaitoumen (or sea island cotton) juban for summer time.  I hope I can spend more comfortable summer kimono season this year.
